Are you sure that all your looked after children are safeguarded?
Efficiently and cost effectively?

National statistics (2008) show that 14,700 (25%) of all children that are looked after are placed outside their council boundary. This places a huge strain on overworked social workers when they make statutory visits. Often these visits can mean that a social worker, or maybe two staff, are away from home and the office overnight or two nights. This results in loss of working hours, expensive accommodation, other expenses, travel costs and disruption to your staffs' family life.

At Grandon Ltd, we specialise in out of county placement statutory visits for children who are looked after.

We will visit children looked after by your authority, placed out of county within the area shown on our map, regularly, within statutory timescales to meet government targets.

We will:
Improve outcomes for children who are looked after.
Improve service delivery, helping you to meet National Indicators.
At a reasonable cost - more cost effective than sending your staff on long overnight journeys.

Grandon Ltd is a new Independent Social Work company based in the North West. Although we are newly formed, we have a wealth of experience and qualifications.

We are a very experienced team who attend training regularly to continually develop and improve practice.

We can provide nationally registered interpreters for most major international languages.

We can provide BSL nationally registered sign language interpreters.

We recognise that, however well meant, it is not always possible for Local Authorities to provide children with the best service possible, which all children have a right to and deserve.

Our philosophy is that every child is precious and that their care should be more than "good enough". We aim to ensure that each child who is Looked After receives quality care that will guarantee that they fulfill the five outcomes for children.
In turn your staff will welcome the release from spending days travelling long distances, staying away from their own families and being able to devote time to local visits.

We will work with you to help you to meet all of your statutory and professional obligations.

The director Kathleen Cavanagh, MA, BA (HONS), DipSw, MEGCC, MBASW, has been working in Child Protection Social Work for ten years and has a large range of Court Work & Statutory Practice.

The team is made up of a very experienced Senior Manager in Child Protection, a CAMHS Social Worker who has many years of experience in the field and an Independent Reviewing Officer with International Social Work experience.

We are all GSCC registered and hold up-to-date CRB checks. We keep up-to-date with new legislation and strive to undertake regular training in a wide variety of social work topics.
